How to Place an Ad

To place an advertisement, please

1. send us an e-mail (appleyard.david@gmail.com)or fill out our contact form. Please include the following information:

Contact name and address/e-mail address - for our records
The text of your advertisement (as e-mail text or a Word document. Please NOT as a PDF file or an image file)
One or more photographs, if appropriate (recommended for cars and houses)
Contact details for the website - i.e. the details that you want displayed on the website (we recommend a telephone number and/or e-mail address)

2. send a cheque for the appropriate amount (see pricing schedule below) made payable to "The BSPS".

Linking to e-mail addresses: we have stopped automatically creating links to e-mail addresses in advertisements, since this has started creating an unacceptable level of spam for advertisers. If you wish your e-mail address to be a link (so that people can click on the address and automatically be able to send you a mail) please say so explicitly.

Lay-out of an advertisement

We will, in general, place small advertisements (up to 4 or 5 lines of text) directly on the appropriate page. The first line should be descriptive and eye-catching, as it will be used as the title of the advertisement.

For advertisements that take more than this, a summary will be posted on the appropriate page and a link provided to the full ad. We will also do this when there is a list of items for sale. We are happy to take pictures / photos / graphics of a reasonable size within the overall "screenfull" of the advertisement.
