DO YOU ENJOY SINGING?

Posted on February 6th, 2012 by david.appleyard and tagged .

An anglophone women's group gets together weekly to enjoy singing (a capella). We like to sing popular music - anything from Cole Porter to Elton John - and we also sing Christmas carols and other traditional music. From time to time we even appear in public!

We meet not far from the British School of Paris (Saint Germain en Laye, Le Vésinet, Saint Nom la Bretèche). We are currently looking for new members to replace people who are moving out of France this year. If you would be interested in finding out more, please email Patricia Caddick at caddick@neuf.fr

Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto, South Africa is the largest hospital in the world. Many of its patients are HIV positive and extremely poor. 60-80 babies are born there every day and when they leave hospital, usually only after six or so hours, they often leave wrapped in newspaper as their mothers have no clothes for them.

Welcome Mothers (and Dads!)

Co-ordinator: Glenda Banyard

Helping you to find your feet

This voluntary service is offered by a group of parents of pupils of the BSP who have lived in France for a while. Their aim is give you information and advice about the area in which you live and to introduce you to other families.

The service is organised geographically so there is a 'Welcome Mum' (or 'Dad') for each commune where there are BSP families. Some of the larger communes have two 'Welcome Mums' and some of the smaller communes are grouped together.
