2011 Christmas Craft Fayre A Success

Many thanks to all of the parents, staff and pupils who brought forth their time and expertise to make the Christmas Craft Fayre a noteworthy community event.
It was a day to not only celebrate the season, but also the diversity of our talents. Half of our seller tables offered products handcrafted by BSP parents while our Junior School children transformed plastic barquettes into ingenious creations.

The festive atmosphere continued with seasonal melodies by the Senior School orchestra. It was wonderful to see so many of our pupils from last year’s Year 6 back in the hall with their instruments.

The refectory was transformed into a Christmas Café and there was a wide array of handmade cookies, cakes, soups and sandwiches on offer. The Brownies and Rainbows ran biscuit decorating and games stalls which were great fun. It was also a time of giving. Three stalls supported charity events. Senior School pupil, Ellie Murray-Playfair, raised 300 euros for Smile Train, sufficient funds to cover the cost of surgery for two children in need.

An additional 4,500 euros was raised to support special purchases for the school. All of this could not have been possible without the generous donation of time by so many in our community to plan, prepare and work the day of the event. Thank you and warmest wishes this holiday season from the BSPS.
